Cure for Writer’s Block?

A creative writing instructor once told me that the cause of writer’s block is that the story has no plan. The characters have no goals. The writer doesn’t have a clear idea where the story is going.

Listening to my daughter, I think that’s right. She recently went in a different direction and the pieces to her story seemed to fall into place. She’s got her storyboard all completed and up on the wall and she’s off and running again. I can’t wait to read her story!

I’m going to follow her example and restart my own story. I’ve only been working on it for years, and keep getting stuck.

I’ve found a storyboard type software since I’m a little short on wall space šŸ˜‰ But, it can’t hurt to re-start the story, at this point, since I may actually finish it sometime. I’ll have to keep bugging Nichole for advise.

Wish me luck!

  1. the only reason I’m not going with the software is because I do most of my thinking/writing when I’m not on the computer. I find technology very uninspiring with my book and have a hard time getting into the scene if I’m staring at a computer screen. If I could I’d write my book completely outside off in the wilderness šŸ™‚
